Rick came to Aikido with a combined background of almost 20 years of experience in Tang Soo Do, Shoryn Ryu Karate, and Kickboxing. In the early nineties, Rick focused his training and teaching exclusively to Aikido. In 2001, Rick became the Chief Instructor at Utah Aikikai.
Rick Travels extensively and continually trains with the top Shihans and finest Aikido instructors in the world to further enrich the Aikido experience for his Utah Aikikai members.
Utah Aikikai is afiliated in the US with the California Aikido Association under the direction of Frank Doran Shihan (7th Dan). Utah Aikikai is fully accredited with Hombu Dojo, Aikido International Headquarters, Shinjuku Japan.
In October 2005, he fulfilled his dream of building a truly world class dojo at our new location: 3474 South 2300 East, Suite 12 in Salt Lake City.
